LOOM Imports is a woman-owned handmade textiles company offering handcrafted wool rugs and runners. Their rugs support artisans in remote communities in Oaxaca, Mexico. With a deep commitment to sustainable and fair trade values, LOOM helps to eradicate poverty and preserve traditional Zapotec weaving techniques. All of their rugs are crafted in-house from a family workshop of multi-generational master weavers who set their own wages. The artisans use traditional wooden foot pedal looms in an open-air workshop that rarely uses electricity. They make all their rugs with 100% sheep wool and dyed using eco-friendly, locally sourced, plant-based dyes. LOOM works directly with artisans to help them apply for grants and resources for their own small business. LOOM is a B-Corp Certified based in Asheville, North Carolina, and Oaxaca, Mexico. They were a founding member of Trade+Impact and Asheville Fair Goods Collaborative. They are participants of Aid to Artisans and Nest.
