5. Anchal Project
Anchal Project is a member of the Fair Trade Federation, partnering with women artisans in Ajmer, India who use traditional Kantha quilting techniques to create contemporary goods. All of Anchal’s products are thoughtfully hand-sewn, hand-embroidered, composed of organic cotton, and hand-dyed with eco friendly dyes.
Anchal Project currently employs 77 artisans and, since 2010, the brand has trained over 150 former sex workers in Ajmer, India, offering careers in textiles (such as Kantha quilting, machine tailoring, and hand-dyeing).

Sustainable bedding brand Sijo uses French linen and bamboo lyocell fabric for their luxuriously smooth bedding.
Sijo’s bamboo lyocell fabric is made using a closed-loop process that doesn’t waste any water or solvents and their linen bedding is sustainably sourced and dew-retted! (According to CFDA, “dew retting is preferred in terms of sustainability, which requires no additional inputs of energy, water, or chemicals and allows nutrients to return to the soil through natural decomposition.“)
