Rough Linen is an ethical, woman-owned brand that has created luxurious and sustainable linen bedding and bath staples since 2009. Founder Tricia Rose's passion for textiles began in Scotland when she discovering an ancient hand-loomed linen pillowslip in her family's stone cottage. Her family's knitting and sewing traditions shaped her love for European heritage linen. Specializing in 100% European flax linens, each piece features stunning heritage and masterful craftsmanship, which includes fabric weight up to 260GSM, meticulous 2mm stitching, durable 3-ply thread seams, and adherence to 150-year-old techniques. Linen is a biodegradable, hypoallergenic, breathable, absorbent, and durable textile, and cultivating linen uses less water and pesticides than cotton. Rough Linen ensures ethical manufacturing practices by implementing flexible hours, natural light, safe working conditions, fair wages, benefits, medical coverage, and sustainable practices throughout their production. All of their pieces are designed in a women-led design studio in California and made in small batches.
