Enjoy your favorite drink in the Isoline hand-painted ceramic mug and imagine yourself in the beautiful terrains of Colombia. Isoline are contour lines detailing the elevation of specific areas on a map. In Colombia, there are arid regions nestled in the Andean mountains, characterized by peaks and valleys. When these areas are shown on an isoline map, it shows beautiful abstract representations of the landscape and topography.

These hand-painted ceramics are made from fired earthenware clay, locally and ethically sourced from the municipality of La Union, located in the department of Antioquia. Inspired by Zuahaza textiles, these hand-painted ceramics are a fusion of classic craftsmanship and contemporary design. To make this possible, Zuahaza collaborated with 2 esteemed workshops in the town of Carmen de Viboral, a beacon of traditional hand painting of intricate motifs on white ceramic. Each piece is a testament to the artistry of the community and their rich heritage.

Meet the maker Zuahaza

A group of women artisans in the rural village of Charalá masterfully handcraft Zuahaza's organic home decor. Nestled in Colombia’s Andes mountains, these artisans hand spin, dye, weave, and sew each Zuahaza product. They construct each piece from organic cotton sourced from Peru, natural dyes, and biodegradable materials. Their production techniques also utilize water-saving and minimal waste principles. Founder and head designer Tatiana Ordoñez’s Colombian roots inspire her designs through the traditional art forms and artisan techniques that each Zuahaza piece of organic home decor celebrates. All of Zuahaza’s women artisans receive fair, equal living wages and earn nearly double Colombia’s minimum wage.
