Sound as Color

Designer, natural dyer, and sound practitioner Lauren Jones created Sound as Color to create thoughtful, healing products that celebrate nature. They craft their meditation pillows and mindfulness accessories using meticulously sourced natural materials and traditional natural dyeing techniques. Lauren hand-dyes all of the textiles with ingredients such as avocado pits, marigolds, and indigo. They reduce water wastage by recharging dye baths and using leftover water in their dye garden. After the dyeing process, a family-owned and operated factory in Vista, CA receives the textiles. Sound as Color’s handcrafted technique creates unique mediation pillows and floor cushions with unexpected outcomes that they believe mirror those of meditation in revealing the beauty of imperfections.
